Volker Wieker be new Inspector General of the Bundeswehr

The commander of the German-Dutch Corps, Volker Wieker will be the new Inspector General of the Bundeswehr. This gave Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (CSU) announced on Friday in Berlin.
The 55-year-old Wieker is the successor to the late November released Wolfgang Schneiderhan. He was eliminated because he Guttenberg reports on the controversial air strike in Kunduz on 4 September had not provided.
Guttenberg stressed Wieker have many years experience both in use and in the ministry. He was a first class soldier. Currently he has in the ISAF headquarters in Kabul, a key position. Part of the German-Dutch corps had been moved there in July.
Guttenberg said: "I am convinced that General Wieker, the further use of orientation of the armed forces will drive consistently and decisively." He was his role as the top soldier in the army and military adviser to the federal government "in the best manner and to the benefit of the citizens of our meet and engage the country, "the defense minister said with conviction.
